2021 Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Map Registration Package -- Printable form here! (coming soon)
The Buy Local! Buy Fresh! map is a direct marketing tool for farms and local producers. It links consumers with local food by making food producers more visible in the region, and then supports their growth in the market. The map showcases our region's abundance of local farms, food producers, and promotes local food businesses and farm events. As the demand for local food continues to increase, listing on the map is a cost effective way to reach this growing market. We currently produce maps for the BC Southern Interior, including the Okanagan Similkameen and the Thompson Shuswap regions.
The decision was made in June 2020 to offer the campaign entirely online and continue publishing the farm listings here on buylocalbc.org as usual. Since the spring of 2020, visits to our website have roughly doubled over previous seasons, indicating a strong ongoing interest and demand for local food and drink products. Rates for all farm listings decreased to just $45, and registration for the Buy Local! Buy Fresh! maps is ongoing. To receive information about new maps, updating your current listing, changes to this year's campaign, or how to join, please feel welcome to contact us.

The 2021 Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Okanagan map and Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Thompson Shuswap map are organized by both location and by main product category. The online farm listings here on buylocalbc.org include detailed business contact and ordering information, searchable by product and location. Testimonials from our participants:: "We're starting to build new customers and we really did notice this year that the Buy Local! Buy Fresh! pamphlet was helpful to draw some new customers to the farm. I think that was a real positive and we'll look forward to participating in future years. It was nice to see new people and especially more tourists stopping by the farm as they drive through the Okanagan, and so that's been a good thing for us - we're always looking to expand our clientele. We're fairly new in the business still--this is the third year of us owning the orchard--so it's good to see new people coming out, and I'm excited by the upsurge of people that are interested in local again. There have been alot of local families that are stopping in to the farm looking for fruit for their kids for school lunches, and that's a good thing!"
