Buy Local BC is very pleased to announce the arrival of the 5th Annual 2017 Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Okanagan Map and the new 2nd Annual 2017 Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Thompson Shuswap Map, your year-round map and guide to local food.
The 2nd Annual Thompson Shuswap map showcases over 50 participants, including 28 farms and over 20 other listings from Kamloops to Salmon Arm, east to Sicamous, west to Ashcroft & Lillooet, and north to Clearwater. The latest Okanagan map features 75 participants, including 48 farms between Osoyoos, the Similkameen Valley, north to Armstrong, as well as over 25 local food businesses, events and services. Together, these maps present some of our region’s finest locally produced food and drinks.
The 2017 Okanagan map officially launched at Lake Country Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market on June 30th and at Vernon Farmers’ Market on July 3rd. The 2017 Thompson Shuswap map launches July 8th at Kamloops Regional Farmers' Market. Free copies of the maps are also available at most visitor centres and hotels, and at many participating businesses throughout the Okanagan Valley, the Thompson Valleys, and the Shuswap.
"Being a part of the Lake Country and Vernon markets for the Canada 150 weekend was a wonderful way to show off this year’s new maps on the national holiday. We're also looking forward to our Thompson Shuswap map launch this week in Kamloops," said Buy Local BC founder and coordinator Shayne Wright.
